The Presidential Council is the supreme executive authority of the Republic of Sudan during the transitional period established under the Nairobi Transitional Charter of 2025. It represents the collective leadership of the state and reflects Sudan’s political, regional, and social diversity, bringing together figures from armed movements, civil society, democratic forces, and regional representatives.
The Council was created to lead Sudan through its historic transformation following decades of conflict, authoritarian rule, and fragmentation. By uniting diverse stakeholders, it serves as both a symbol of national reconciliation and a functional executive body guiding Sudan’s transition to peace, democracy, and federal governance.
